Leave the mainland behind and sink into the peace of Rotoroa's secluded shores. Swim in crystal-clear waters, stretch out on golden sand, and listen to native birdsong as the world slows down.

Ladies Bay

Ladies Bay is the island’s most easily reached beach and a favourite place to settle in for the day. With electric BBQs, toilets, and a changing shed close by, it’s an effortless spot for a picnic or a swim. The sheltered water makes it a safe, welcoming place to cool off or simply sit back and enjoy the view. At low tide, a short 10-minute walk around the rocks leads to Men’s Bay, a visitor favourite for its rock pools and quiet pockets of shoreline.

Mens Bay

Men’s Bay sits just around the point from Ladies Bay, offering another quiet place to swim, picnic, and take in the coastline. Toilets are close by, and the beach often feels a little more secluded. At low tide, you can reach it via a 10-minute rock-pool walk from Ladies Bay.

Cable Bay

Rotoroa Island's largest swimming beach. Dive in and enjoy plenty of space to swim, splash, and relax on the sand. At low tide you can walk around on the rocks around the cliff to MaiMai Bay.

Mai May Bay

Mai Mai Track takes you right down to Rotoroa Island's west coast beach. Not only can you swim at Mai Mai Bay, but there's also a picturesque picnic spot where you can enjoy a seaside bite to eat within view of Waiheke Island. At low tide you can walk on the rocks around the cliff to Cable Bay.

Home Bay

One of two picnic spots on the island with electric BBQs, Home Bay is conveniently close to the information centre. Perfect for a BBQ lunch before exploring further—our team is nearby if you need advice on where to head next.
