An important message for visitors on 12 and 13 March 2022

We have no remaining water on the island. This is a caused by a combination of this very dry summer and the island bores running dry. The impact of covid means the next available barge with water tankers can't be delivered until next week. For this weekend 11-13 March, our accommodation is closed, however we’re still able to welcome you as day visitors.
 
We ask all day visitors to: 
- Use the island’s two remote toilets (located above Men’s bay and MaiMai bay) - hand sanitiser will be provided
- Bring all your own drinking water for the day.

While this is different to the usual facilities we offer on Rotoroa Island, we still hope to welcome you to enjoy the walking tracks, wildlife, small museum and go for a swim at one of our beautiful beaches.
