The Trust

Thanks to the generosity of philanthropists, Neal and Annette Plowman, a 99 year lease and ongoing development programme has been established on Rotoroa Island.

This significant bequest is a special gift to the people of Auckland, being administered by the Rotoroa Island Trust (RIT) on behalf of the sole financial beneficiary The Salvation Army. The Trust is a registered New Zealand charity; proceeds from the island's landing fee go towards Rotoroa's ongoing upkeep, and the work of the Salvation Army in New Zealand.

Directors of The Rotoroa Island Trust Company Limited (the Trustee) are Donald Bell, Barrie Brown (Chairman), John Gow (Project Manager), Geoff Harley, Chris Liddell, Simon Plowman and Bruce Vyle. Messrs Bell and Vyle represent The Salvation Army.

Rotoroa Island's Charities Commission Registration Number is CC24437.
