We’re delighted to announce our new transport partnership with Explore Group.
Commencing 30 September, Explore will operate a regular scheduled ferry service to Rotoroa Island. It’s perfect timing for a school holiday outing;
In the words of Explore Managing Director, William Goodfellow “We are passionate about the region and working alongside like-minded groups such as Rotoroa Island Trust to share these special places with the rest of New Zealand, and the world.”
- Explore ferries depart from Viaduct Harbour, take a journey through the Hauraki Gulf, arriving at Rotoroa Island in just over an hour.
- The spring timetable will run Wednesday through to Sunday
- To celebrate the launch of this new service, Explore are offering a special launch rate until December*
- Join us for the inaugural service on 7 October and we’ll treat you to a complimentary afternoon tea to celebrate - tea/coffee and cake will be service at the old schoolhouse/kiosk (Home Bay) at 3.30pm For further information and bookings, please visit Explore's website.

*Special Launch Rate
Explore have a special launch rate ($75 per adult/ $40 per child) available for bookings made before 30 November 2023 for travel until 31 March 2024. Prices will revert to $95 per adult and $50 per child for bookings made from 1 December 2023.
