Inspiring young people to regenerate, rewild and restore our earth
Rotoroa Island Trust has established an education programme aimed at school children between the ages of 10-14. The programme will be run over a 6-week period during Terms 1 and 4 of each year from 2022-2023 initially. (a pilot is running in 2021 Term 4) The programme will provide resources and activities for young people to lead in nature focussed art and projects. This includes 2 school visits by our educators and a trip to Rotoroa Island. The intention is to inspire transformational change in a generation of young people around nature, so they become active forces of change and are inspirational leaders to others now and in the future.
AS AN EDUCATOR YOUR ROLE WILL BE TO:
Assist a Lead Educator.
Contribute, train, and develop as a guide to coach young people. (You will get some training for this)
Be available for 8 weeks during Terms 1 & 4 of 2022, 2023, and Term 4, 2021
To work 3 to 4 days per week.
Be a certified teacher.
Have experience with the NZ curriculum and/or outdoor education/conservation and te reo.
Be passionate about making a difference with young people.
Undertake a police check prior to appointment.
Have a full driver’s license and be able to have the use of a car.
Be currently based in Auckland.
