Visit Our Kauri Trees

Come and visit our brand new baby kauri seedlings, grown from kauri at the Colin McCahon House

Colin McCahon is one of New Zealand's most prominant artists, and so much of his art was inspired by the kauri trees surrounding his home in west Auckland. In August 2018, we were thrilled to receive 30 beautiful kauri seedlings from our friends at Kauri 2000 Trust and BNZ.

Growing healthy kauri trees in a protected environment is especially important today, while the trees continue to be threatened by a serious disease known as Kauri Dieback. We are honoured to protect these precious new seedlings, and would love for you to come and see them thrive in their new home on the North Tower Loop Track.

Please help us protect our kauri seedlings by admiring them from the track and ensuring your shoes are cleaned as part of our biosecurity measures.
